LASIK is performed with a precise, computer-controlled
laser known as an Excimer laser. At One to One LASIK,
we do not believe in taking a "cookie cutter"
approach to surgery and we do not restrict ourselves to
one brand of laser equipment. We evaluate each patient's
individual needs and choose the laser that we believe
to be the best for their procedure. The Star S4 Active
Track
laser manufactured by VISX and the LADARVision
laser manufactured by Summit/Autonomous are two of
the most commonly used. Both lasers have proven, worldwide
track records and are FDA-approved for LASIK. Both incorporate
third-generation "tracking" technology which
detects tiny eye movements during the procedure many
times each second and automatically adjusts the laser
beam to compensate for these movements. Both are also
leading the way in a technology sometimes called "Wavefront" technology or "customized ablation" which addresses even
tiny imperfections in your vision which glasses and contacts
can't correct. |
