 Dr.
Sanford Feldman's highly individualized and detail-oriented
approach to LASIK sets him far apart from those "assembly
line" or "factory" LASIK centers and from
all the rest. Dr. Feldman is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist
who has performed thousands of vision correcting procedures
since opening his practice in San Diego in 1984. He is a
graduate of the world-renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute
at UCLA in Los Angeles and now teaches there as an Associate
Clinical Instructor.
Dr. Feldman is a nationally recognized expert in LASIK
patient education and helped to develop booklets and video
programs that are used by other LASIK surgeons throughout
the United States. He was chosen to be Secretary of Public
Information for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the
world's largest
organization of Eye M.D.'s.
Dr. Feldman graduated with highest honors from Stanford
University and the UCLA School of Medicine and has received
awards for his research contributions in the field of Ophthalmology.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology
and a Fellow of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology
and the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of
the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery
and the Refractive Surgery Interest Group.
Dr. Feldman strongly believes that doctors need to spend
much more time listening to, educating, and answering the
questions of their patients. This commitment to attentive,
unhurried patient care is at the heart of the One to One LASIK philosophy. It has also led to his involvement as
a writer and producer for Dr. Art Ulene's health segments
on NBC's Today Program, a co-author of a syndicated newspaper
column and a co-author of a book on health education.
